In an oblique reference to Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek on Friday said that countries supporting, aiding and funding terrorism must be held accountable.
"India has been a permanent SCO member for 2 years now. We have given a positive contribution in all activities of SCO. We have continued engagements to enhance SCO’s role and credibility on the international stage," PM Modi said.
Earlier on the day, the PM met President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and hold bilateral meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
On the sidelines of SCO summit on Thursday, PM Modi had met Chinese president Xi Jinping and said that Pakistan is yet to take “concrete action” on India’s concerns and create a terror-free atmosphere that is necessary to facilitate any possible engagement between the two sides.
