I called you my brother: Jaya Prada hits out at Azam Khan over 'Naachne wali' jibe

Actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada on Saturday launched a scathing attack at Samajwadi Paty (SP) leader Azam Khan saying that even though she had called the latter her brother, Azam Khan always wished ill for her and insulted her. Responding to the snide comment of Khan where he had called her a "Naachne Wali (Dancer)", Jaya asked if brothers look at their sisters in such a way.

Addressing a gathering in Rampur, Jaya stressed that because of the insults meted out to her, she was forced to leave Rampur.

"Azam Khan sahab maine aapko bhai kaha lekin aapne mujhe behn ke naam se bad'dua di, aapne mujhe zalil kiya. Kya hamare bhai kabhi is nazar dekhte hain ki main nachne wali hoon? Isliye main Rampur chhod ke jana chahti th (Azam Khan, I called you brother but you wished ill for me and insulted me. A brother would never see his sister in a bad light? This is why I wished to leave Rampur)."

Jaya Prada then went on to make a sensational claim regarding her stint with the SP. She claimed that her indecent photos were circulated in the parliamentary constituency regarding which she asked SP patriarch Mulayam Singh for help, but no politician tried to save her and that's why she had to leave Rampur.

"Maine Mulayam Singh ji ko bhi bataya ki meri ashleel tasveerein Rampur main ghuma rahe hain, mujhe bachaiye, lekin Rampur main kisi neta ne mujhe bachane ki koshish nahi ki, to mujhe Rampur majboori mein chhod ke jana pada," Jaya was quoted by ANI as saying.

Earlier while addressing a gathering, the two-time Member of Parliament from the Rampur Lok Sabha constituency had broken down  recalling her past experiences with the Samajwadi Party.

Mai Rampur nahi chhodna chahti thi… Mai Rampur isliye chhod gayi kyonki mujhe us din tezab se attack karne ke liye socha tha, mere upar hamla kiya tha (I did not want to leave Rampur. I had to leave Rampur because that day there was an attempt to attack me with acid),” she had said.

This time Jaya has been fielded from the constituency by the BJP against SP's Azam Khan. She took the plunge into politics in 1994 when she joined the Telugu Desam Party. Later she joined the SP and represented the Rampur constituency twice after 2004 in the lower house. However, she was expelled from the party in 2010 following her feud with Azam Khan owning to her allegiance to Amar Singh.

In 2014 she contested the elections on Rashtriya Lok Dal ticket and lost. This time, Azam and Jaya will square off for the first time in one of the most anticipated election.
