Glad Kanhaiya is campaigning in Bhopal; RJD should have given up Begusarai seat for him, says Digvijaya Singh

Calling himself a supporter of Kanhaiya Kumar Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said that the RJD made a huge mistake by not giving Begusarai seat to CPI. He further said that he discussed this issue in his party and with the RJD.

The former CM of Madhya Pradesh claimed that Kanhaiya Kumar was falsely accused of raising anti-nation slogans and alleged that people from the BJP as well as the RSS did it at the behest of a TV channel.

Digvijaya visited the office of the Communist Party of Bhopal today and announced that the former president of the JNUSU will visit Bhopal to campaign for him on 8th and 9th May.

Describing CPI as a party which fights for an ideology he said that Congress won in 2009 Lok Sabha elections because of the Left front.

“Congress is like a rainbow which includes the left as well as the centre. There was a slight difference between Mahatma Gandhi and Karl Marx,” said Digvijaya Singh.

The former Chief Minister also said that the grand old party is weak in reading and writing and claimed that it decreased after the death of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Terming the 2019 Lok Sabha elections a do-or-die battle the Congress leader said: “If Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister this time, then India won’t see the next general elections.”

Kanhaiya Kumar is the CPI candidate from Bihar’s Begusarai and he has been pitted against Union minister and firebrand BJP leader Giriraj Singh and RJD’s Tanveer Hasan.

Many actors and prominent faces from Bollywood including Javed Akhtar, Prakash Raj, Shabana Azmi and Swara Bhaskar visited Begusarai to campaign for Kanhaiya.

According to his affidavit, Kanhaiya has a doctorate but is unemployed. The former student leader holds no agricultural land or any vehicle but has earned Rs 8.5 lakhs in two years by writing for newspapers, magazines and digital portals.
