After skipping all-party meeting, Arvind Kejriwal meets PM Narendra Modi; invites him to visit Mohalla clinic

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament, two days after skipping the all-party meeting called by the PM.

After the meeting, Kejriwal tweeted that he congratulated the PM on his victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Elaborating on what was discussed with PM Modi during the meeting, Kejriwal said he requested Centre’s support in fulfilling the Delhi government's plan to store Yamuna water during the rainy season.

He further said that he invited the PM to visit a Mohalla Clinic and a school run by the Delhi government. Notably, Mohalla Clinics and Delhi's government schools are the pet schemes of the Kejriwal government and have won wide acclaim.

Assuring full cooperation to the Centre, Kejriwal said it is significant that the Delhi government and the Centre should work together to develop the national capital.

He said he told Modi that Delhi's health scheme "is much bigger and wider in scope. However, assured him to examine if Ayushman Bharat scheme could also be integrated into our scheme".

Kejriwal also said that Modi government's health scheme, Ayushman Bharat, was also discussed. He added that he told the PM that the health scheme of the Delhi government "is much bigger and wider in scope. However, assured him to examine if Ayushman Bharat scheme could also be integrated into our scheme".

The PM had on Wednesday met heads of all the parties who have an MP either in the Upper House or Lower House.

Several issues, including the concept of ‘one nation, one election’, were discussed.

Kejriwal had not attended the meet; Aam Aadmi Party’s leader Raghav Chadha had represented the party.
