Two Liquor Firm Employees Shot Dead In Capital

Armed assailants shot dead two men and injured another before decamping with nearly Rs 8 lakh near a liquor vend in Ecotech-3 area of Greater Noida late on Wednesday night.

The two deceased and the injured, who are associated with a liquor firm, had come to collect cash from the liquor shop as a routine exercise, police said.

Those who died are driver Om Prakash, 40 , and security guard Chander Bahadur, 42, residents of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Nepal, respectively.

Ambuj, another security guard, sustained two bullet injuries and is undergoing treatment at Kailash hospital, police said.

All three were associated with liquor firm Accurate Foods and Beverages Private Ltd, a company owned by the family of liquor baron Ponty Chadha, who was killed in Delhi on November 17, 2012.

Superintendent of police (rural), Gautam Budh Nagar, Suniti, said the three travelling in a Mahindra Marshall vehicle had collected cash from six liquor vends across Greater Noida and had reached another shop in Chauganpur village around 9 pm when the four assailants on board another car– a red Maruti Brezza — overtook them and started indiscriminate firing.

The bullets hit the window panes. Driver Om Prakash and security guard Chander Prakash, sitting on the front, died on the spot. The assailants also attacked Ambuj who was sitting in the rear seat of the vehicle.
