Kamal Haasan Booked Over Remark On Hindu Terror

A case has been filed against actor Kamal Haasan under IPC sec 500, 511, 298, 295(a) & 505(c) over his remark on Hindu terror. The matter will come up for hearing tomorrow.

Further details on the case is awaited.

The actor on Thursday sharpened his attack on the right wing leadership, saying they cannot deny the phenomenon of Hindu terror. His comment came as a reply to a question from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan which appeared on Ananda Vikatan, a Tamil magazine.

He said: “The older generation are trying to spread conservative ideas through all means – culture, festivals, worship, music, art etc. Reacting to this, the right wing people in other religions also started doing an encore. Not just in Tamil Nadu but also across the country, I see this as a degradation.”

On Friday, actor-filmmaker Prakash Raj supported Kamal Hassan on Twitter saying “”If instilling fear in the name of religion… culture… morality is not terrorizing… then what is it. Just asking.”
