Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jaya Prada on Thursday attacked prominent Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan saying whatever troubles he is suffering from are due to the curses from the women he has harassed in the past. She also laughed off the Rampur MP's crying in public as a mere drama.
While speaking to media about land grab cases against Azam Khan, Jaya Prada said, "This is the result of curses of the tears women have shed because of him. He is now crying in every public meeting, he used to call me a good actress, but what is he doing now?"
Jaya Prada's comments came a couple of days after the Samajwadi Party leader broke down at an election rally for the upcoming bypolls. Azam Khan had said that all the cases were slapped against him because he had neither sold himself or the constituency he represents.
"I have been slapped with IPC 307 (attempt to murder). My self-respect proved too costly for me, my friends. Now, the accusation that I have stolen goats and hens will also remain with me. Oh God! Why didn't you kill me at that very moment if I had ever committed such a crime? This is all happening because I have neither sold you nor myself," he said during the rally.
Over 80 cases of land grabbing, stealing, intimidation, etc have been filed against Azam Khan. He had earlier appeared before a Special Investigation Team (SIT) as he is facing criminal charges in connection with land encroachments by the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University.
