APSSDC in association with Life Science Sector Skill Development Council (LSSDC) and Industry experts, planned to associate with all stakeholders in skilling students of Degree, PG and Pharma Colleges and Unemployed Youth as per  Industry needs.
In this context, Meeting was convened with the Principals/ SPOC’s of Degree, PG and Pharma Colleges from the 13 Districts of AP along with Industry Experts, Training Partners and Cluster head of LSSSDC  on 9th July 2019  as per Press Note released today.
APSSDC had  organized  one day Conference - “Industry- Academia Connect for Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Sector” (IACPLS), on 21st August 2019
It is  proposed to initiate the  skill Programs  initially at 3 Centres as pilot base as per the availability of the class rooms & Lab equipment for the training, student strength, availability of  faculty  and  science group students according to the LSSSDC norms for  Training Program to the students and unemployed youth. 
Four faculty from each college are approved by LSSSDC and  trainers are getting trained now for 7  days at Sri Venketeshwara College of Pharmacy, Etcherla, Srikakulam from 25th Nov to 1st Dec, 2019.
APSSDC  intends to collaborate closely with the pharma  industry and Academia for infrastructure requirements, Training of Trainers, knowledge dissemination, On-the-Job Training/ apprenticeship which would benefit the target segment significantly.
With the help of pharma industry it is proposed to to take up multi skill training programs for pharma and unemployed youth like
Production chemist with machine operator
Lab assistant with quality control
Stores assistant with stores supervisor
Medical sales representatives
The services of these  trainers specifically trained in multi skilling activities would be better utilised for skilling pharma  and unemployed youth to suit to  the requirement of pharma industry.
If the module is successful same would be replicated in other pharma colleges across the state paving the way for many non technical students to get  employed in pharma sector which has large demand.
