B'luru churches, devotees connect digitally on Good Friday

Bengaluru, Most churches in the city used popular video streaming apps to virtually conduct the Good Friday service, considering congregations are barred from gathering on Friday.

St. Stephen's Church, Jalahalli in the city shared a Youtube link with the devotees saying, "Kindly invite your family and friends to watch it. You can also come to our worship at http://stephenschurch.in/live"

Onesim's church member Govada Anil Kumar lives 30 km away at Kodathi on Sarjapura Road in Bengaluru. He logged into Good Friday service from his bedroom.

"I participated in Good Friday prayer through Zoom live telecast organized by our pastor Onesim," said Kumar to IANS.

Sitting in front of his computer with the Bible, hymnal and other Christian scriptures, Kumar sung the special hymns mourning the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

"Looking at my church pastor's teachings on the screen, I meditated on the last seven works Christ spoke before his death," said Kumar, a standard observance in the churches on Good Friday.

Similar was the piety among devotees across the churches such as St. Baselios Orthodox Church at Marathahalli, St. George Orthodox Chruch and others.
