National Solar Conclave Concludes : Odisha to be the choice destination for manufacture of Solar Equipment

Odisha: AIC-NITF has been set up with the support of NITI Aayog, Govt. of India in Bhubaneswar. The centre with its state of art facility is one of its kind in the state for Start Ups & Entrepreneurs. The centre is emerging as a knowledge hub in Eastern India. National Solar Energy Conclave (SEC2020), which was conducted over 3 days from 1st Dec to 3 rd Dec - 20 in AIC-NITF complex, Bhubaneswar had 10 technical sessions, 30 speakers and large participation from Start Ups, Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Project Proponents, Professionals & Corporate Leaders. Focus of the deliberation was promotion of Solar Energy and its use for the benefit of the common man. While the inaugural key note address was given by Director General International Solar Alliance, the Valedictory address was given by Secretary to Govt. of Odisha, Revenue & Disaster Management & Chairperson Green Energy Development Company Ltd (GEDCOL). In his address Shri Bishnupada Sethi informed that Solar Energy potential from water bodies of Odisha itself will come to 5000MW which is more than our energy requirement. Other Guest speakers Shri H. K. Behera, President OCF and Shri Prasanta Biswal, Evangelist, Start Up Odisha highlighted the role of Solar Start Up. The conclave has come forward with its recommendation of 7 areas for working of Start Ups, Innovators, and Entrepreneurs. These are (i) Developing compact Photovoltaic Panels, (ii) Storage Technology for manufacturing compact and cheap battery, (iii) High Quality Solar Equipment, (iv) Innovative Deployment of Solar Panels, (v) Maintenance of Solar Panel and Equipment, (vi) Cost Effective Roof Top Solar System, (vii) Promoting Inclusive Growth by developing affordable micro/mini pump sets for irrigation, water purifier, water heater, solar cooker, solar home lighting, micro solar grids, solar toys etc. In the first session of the last day Shri Ajay Kumar Nayak, Joint Secretary, Skill Development and Technical Education briefed the participants about tremendous initiatives taken in Odisha for Skill Development and promotion of Incubation Centres. In the concluding session Dr. T. K. Chand informed that Solar Sector offers huge market with high job potential. With availability of Skilled man power in Odisha and facilities for setting up industry, Odisha can be the choice destination for setting up of manufacturing units for Solar Equipment and Lithium ION Battery. Dignitaries and participants of the conclave highly appreciated the ambiance and state of art facilities in AICNITF established with the support of NITI Aayog, for Start Ups and Entrepreneurs
