Another Suicide In Minister Ganta-Owned Narayana Jr College In Kadapa

Kadapa: Yet another girl student of the Narayana chain of junior colleges committed suicide in Kadapa on Friday. The Andhra Pradesh human resources development minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao directed the district administration and the Intermediate Education Commissioner to conduct an enquiry into the case.

The minister said action would be taken against anyone who might have driven the girl to suicide, regardless of who owns the college.

The Narayana chain of colleges and schools is owned by Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s ministerial colleague P Narayana, the very influential municipal administration minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The 16-year-old girl student, Pavani, of Intermediate first year (MPC) committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room in the early hours of Friday.

According to Kadapa DSP Mausam Basha, it’s not clear what drove her to suicide.

On being informed of the incident, her father Mallesh, who lives in Manasa Kalyana Mandapam street in Kadapa, rushed to the hostel. Her body was shifted to the RIMS government hospital.
