The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has come out announcing with another phased rollout face recognition feature as an additional mode of authentication. This Aadhaar-issuing body has already started working on it with telecom service providers and it will be effective from September 15. It said that specific instructions will be passed on an implementation of face authentication feature, but did not give a fresh deadline on this aspect. UIDAI has made it clear that the move is aimed at curbing the possibility of fingerprint spoofing or cloning.
