India’s longest running TV show CID to go off air from October 27

India’s longest running TV show CID to go off air from October 27

21 years and the millennials have been used to seeing Sony TV perennially airing CID during the late hours of the night. Even though, new crime shows like Saavdhan India and Crime Patrol tried to acquire the position which CID enjoyed, they never came even close. The term CID, which means Crime Investigation Department came into existence for us only after ACP Pradyuman brought the meaning to it. Admit it, we all spent major years of our childhood unravelling murder mysteries with the team of CID. In fact, Dayanand Shetty, who plays the role of door-breaker Daya, became the centre of all the memes on the internet.

So much of nostalgia have struck every 90s kid today with the announcement of CID going off air. Finally, the day has arrived when we will no longer see CID episodes airing on the loop on Sony TV. It’s like Sony Max broke all its ties with Sooryavansham (we know that’s not happening anytime soon).

CID vanished from the face of television after its last episode in July without informing about its return. The shooting had been called off after few issues with the channel. The news about it going off air surfaced only recently and broke many hearts.
