The latest sensation in Kollywood, Sarkar finally entered the million dollar club at the overseas box office. It was after a long struggle that the movie has achieved this milestone. The combination of Vijay and Murugadoss earlier delivered hits but this particular movie underwent hiccups to breach the milestone mark.

Released on November 7, Sarkar is tipped to be a political drama and it has got a huge release in the USA. As expected, the movie might end up into losses even after scoring a million dollar. The film was sold for heavy prices in contrast to Vijay's USA market. The movie is a profitable venture in the Telugu states and Karnataka but a flop at the USA box office.

Keerthy Suresh and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar played the heroines in the film. Sun Pictures bankrolled the project.
